Medical Secretary for Affective Reception

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units.

The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience.

We are looking for a medical secretary for the Affective Reception, which is a multiprofessional team with a profile assignment in method development, diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with bipolar disorders and depression. A total of two medical secretaries work at the reception.

The reception has been actively working for several years to implement structured treatment lines and evidence-based psychiatric care. The Affective Reception caters to individuals aged 18 to 60 who need psychiatric specialist care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a medical secretary with us, you provide important service and enable interventions that affect many.

Your role includes writing dictations, journal copying, scanning, scheduling appointments, managing waiting lists, and booking/calling patients to the reception's doctors.

There are good opportunities to influence and shape the role of the medical secretary at the reception in collaboration with other employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained medical secretary. You have a good sense of service, see opportunities, are flexible, and can take initiative. You prioritize and organize your work independently but also have good collaboration skills.

Patient safety, accessibility, and reception are important parts of the clinic's work. Having good and effective collaboration internally within the clinic and with neighboring care providers is essential from both a patient and staff perspective.

Personal suitability will be emphasized.
